blogging as a business

If you want to start a blog to make money online, you need to think of your blog as a business.

Just like any other business, your blog can only succeed if you have a plan.

If you want to achieve a specific goal, you need to define one first, right?

Therefore, start your blogging journey by figuring out what you wish to achieve in the long run.

Think about the moment you first thought of starting a blog. Why were you interested in embarking on a journey like that?

When you know your goals, you’ll find it easier to see how far you’ve come already. I mean, if you don’t know where the finish line is, how could you ever reach it, right?

That being said, before you launch your blog make sure you know exactly where you want to be in

  • 6 months,
  • 1 year, or
  • 3 years.

Then, define clear, measurable milestones so that you can track your progress along the way.

For instance, aim at getting a certain number of blog visitors each month. Also, you can define a target for how many followers you want to have on social networks.

I know not all bloggers love thinking about strategy as much as I do.

But here’s the deal:

You MUST have a plan if you want to start a successful blog.

If you don’t know what your ultimate goal is, you’ll most probably end up changing it as you go. And that’s a recipe for disaster. Your blog will be all over the place, your readers can’t figure out who you are, and your motivation will suffer in the long run.
